Our 4.0 Die

Towards process optimization

High operating pressures can cause overheating of the dies and the product, thus compromising its quality and organoleptic properties..

The most advanced systems contain the heat with water cooling systems but do not provide adequate temperature control on the die itself, which is the most stressed component.
For the first time, thanks to the Airlight™ systemyou have an optimization of the production process thanks to complete temperature control in all extrusion stages.

Even older plants can adopt Airlight™ technology and make a valid upgrade to the production lines. It is also possible to revisit the mechanical and electrical components of the presses to increase productivity.

The ideal temperature in just a few minutes

Airlight™ dies reach the selected temperature in just a few minutes with one simple touch remotely or directly from the machine. Thanks to the Airlight™ system, heat is evenly distributed and kept constant over time.

Traditional pasta dies, before being installed in the press, require initial preheating hot water tanks, followed afterward by a limited setup extrusion time.
With the Airlight™ dies it is no longer necessary to preheat the dies and there is no need to extrude product to bring the temperatures up to full capacity.
In a few minutes the extrusion matrix, once installed in the press, will be ready for production and will allow to save:

  • Time
  • Water
  • Gas

Direct Drive

Airlight's innovative direct drive system allows you to adjust the temperature of the die allowing the passage of air through the cutting unit. A digital cable motor coupled to the hub with the blade will allow the cutting of the product and at the same time will allow the exchange of heat with the die. Direct drive is a compact and simple solution, easy to install and also adaptable to other traditional cutting units.

Food-Contact Materials

Quality like at home: stainless steel

Selecting the materials is certainly a decisive factor in safeguarding the environment and ensuring maximum food hygiene.

We were not satisfied to pick a material suitable for food contact but we chose the best stainless steel on the market to offer a product that is resistant, safe and close to consumers' habits..

The different types of steels on the market require a strong knowledge of metallurgy to be able to choose the best possible alloy.

Flexibility

Airlight™ dies are modular and compatible with any type of system without the need to modify the structure of the press.

The Airlight™ system retrofit includes the installation of a temperature control unit, called "Black Box", able to integrate with all the configurations currently on the market.

In fact, you can adapt any type of press or cutting unit to allow the thermoregulation of the dies.
The flow of thermoregulation fluids is enabled not only from the central areas of the die but also from its side areas. Each solution is designed and tailored to the plant on site and according to customer requirements
The production lines for long pasta do not require any kind of adaptation.
The extrusion holes division remains the same as for traditional systems, which can be configured according to the customer's requirements.
The cutting edge modular system and the choice of materials used enable the overall lengthening of the life cycle of the die and the replacement of only the components actually needed.

As a result, maintenance and replacement costs are reduced.

Durability

Airlight™ dies feature a structure designed to minimize deformation. In traditional systems some "warping" phenomena may occur, due to high pressures and thermal expansion, which may present problems during the cutting stages. In Airlight™ systems these phenomena are absent and allow the blades to be always parallel to the cutting surfaces.
The innovative structure has been optimized with some measures to eliminate deformations arising from thermal expansion.
The internal ducts are dimensioned according to ASME standards to withstand high pressures and to guarantee a reliable mechanical structure.
Every model designed is subjected to accurate structural checks and finite element analysis.
